You’re invited to a free book fest where Sherry will be on hand for an author meet and greet, talking about Violet the Hugging Octopus. This is a great activity for the whole family. The Kids Book Fest is a free community event at the Largo Public Library.
As the school year begins to unfold, bringing reading to life with up and close and personal conversations is a great way to incorporate reading for the whole family. Help encourage your young reader to deepen their love of books.
Where: Largo Public Library
When: Saturday, August 31 from 10am-1pm
Children, tweens and their families are encouraged to attend, meet local authors, including Sherry, browse their books, ask questions, take part in crafts and enjoy refreshments.

Books will be available for purchase. Sherry will happily personalize a book for you or a loved one! Violet plushie “book buddies” will also be available for purchase.
Stop by and say hello to Sherry, pick up a free Violet coloring page or puzzle page and learn more about what inspires authors to write children’s books.
The event takes place in the Library’s Jenkins Wing, Rooms A, B and C.
Local organization speaking engagements encouraged
This is a great time to invite Sherry to speak to your favorite civic group, social club, book club, school or after school group. Come prepared with the individual contact information for your organization and we will connect with them together and see if there is an opportunity for Sherry to be available as a presenter.
Your group presentation can be customized for adults and for children of any age. Violet is a children’s book, and her message of elevating self-esteem is one intended for anyone who needs to hear it for the first time or be reminded of their value. Sherry provides the experience in a welcoming fashion, through the eyes of Violet the Hugging Octopus.
